Zaydyn Anderson (Greeneville) is suiting up as a freshman at Tennessee. He spoke with WJHL about his adjustment to the college game and the Vols program last week.
Nick Youmans (Gate City) is headed to his first season at Campbell, where he will play offensive line. Youmans is the first Division I football signee out of Gate City since Carter Jenkins (2022, William & Mary), and now Carter’s younger brother, Parker Jenkins, a rising junior at Gate City, already has four offers from FCS programs, one of them being ETSU.
Several locals on the ETSU roster, as the Bucs opened camp today:
- DL Mason Ball (Elizabethton), a redshirt sophomore;
- LB Drew Armbrister (Greeneville), a redshirt freshman;
- OL Ty Williams (Greeneville), a redshirt junior who transferred in from Austin Peay;
- WR Cole Blanton (Johnson City/Providence Academy), a true freshman;
- DB Zabian Goodwin (Kingsport/Dobyns-Bennett), a true freshman;
- OL Tyler Grizzle (Kingsport/Dobyns-Bennett), a true freshman;
- OL Sam Browder (Kingsport), a redshirt freshman who transferred in from Memphis;
- TE Charlie Browder (Kingsport), a graduate and preseason first-team All-Southern Conference selection;
- CB Camren Richards (Morristown/Morristown West), a true freshman;
- OL Aidan Hitesman (Morristown/Morristown West), a true freshman.
Ben Shrewsbury (Jonesborough/Daniel Boone) is back as the kicker and punter for VMI and has received multiple preseason accolades. He’s joined on the VMI roster by sophomore LB Baylor Necessary (Johnson City/Science Hill).
Elizabethton’s William Bowers, a Class of 2027 placekicker who has committed to Iowa State, recently did an interview with SB Nation.
