The ETSU football team held its first spring practice on Tuesday from Bank of Tennessee Field at William B. Greene, Jr. Stadium.
“It’s exciting to be back out on the field again,” said ETSU coach Will Healy. “There’s a lot of work that goes into getting to this point in putting the roster and staff together, so it was rewarding to see them come out here and compete. I believe that we have improved in several different areas. This group has been great so far and we look forward to seeing their development over these next few weeks.”
Healy broke some news earlier this week, telling Jacob Townsend on “The Morning Monster” that the program had added J.C. Price as the new defensive line coach. Price arrives from Virginia Tech, where he served as associate head coach and D-line coach on Brent Pry‘s staff. Price is a Virginia Tech alum and former third-round NFL Draft pick. Healy also told Townsend that ETSU was adding Rodney Hill as the new strength and conditioning coach.
The Buccaneers will have 12 practices over the next month leading into annual Blue and Gold Spring Game presented by Highlands Sports Medicine Powered by Ballad Health and ETSU Health on April 25. The start time for the spring game is scheduled for noon.
