Baseball season’s under way, and I-81 Sports has you covered for the entire campaign.
Let’s start in the college ranks, where we’ll be getting weekly reports on the Tennessee Vols going forward from Billy Dixon. Billy is a former student assistant with the University of Tennessee baseball team. He was a sports writer in the Tri-Cities for nearly a decade and is the author of eight children’s chapter books and young adult novels including Scholastic Book Fair selection The Origin Society: They. He lives in Mooresville, N.C.
Now, for Major League Baseball, where we plan regular reports on three teams …
Francisco Enrique Avila will be covering the Atlanta Braves for us this season. Francisco is a versatile, sports media professional with more than five years of experience in both writing and broadcasting. In addition to his work here, Francisco currently works during the NFL season in the Football Communications Gameday role with the Chicago Bears, Game Operations with Chicagoland Indoor Soccer, and as a Sports Reporter & Journalist with Just All Sports & Prep Sports USA.
Mike Roberts is going to handle weekly Cincinnati Reds reports. Originally from the Chicago area, Mike has lived most of his life in Indiana and has been a sports writer for the past twenty years. He is a huge fan of baseball, football, and basketball.
I’m going to file regular reports on the Chicago Cubs. Are the Cubs one of the most popular teams in our core coverage area? No. Is Chicago accessible in any way from I-81? Also no. But I’ve been a Cubs fan since I was a little kid and I’m flexing my very small amount of power as Editorial Director of the site. So, be ready for regular Letters from Wrigleyville.
As always, follow us on social media and check back regularly for a unique combination of coverage that you just don’t find anywhere else.
