The Knoxville Ice Bears return to their “home ice” on Halloween night, as they host the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs.
The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. Discounted tickets are available for first responders.
Currently holding an 0-2 record, the Ice Bears are coming off a Cinderella run to the finals of the President’s Cup back in the spring, after finishing sixth in the SPHL standings during the regular season.
The 2025-26 Ice Bears are in their second season under head coach John Gurskis. While SPHL teams tend to experience significant roster turnover from year to year, several key players from last season’s President’s Cup finalist squad return.
They include team captain Jimmy Soper (13 goals and 16 assists), forward Jason Brancheau (13 goals and 21 assists in 2024-25), forward Eric Olson (8 goals and 9 assists), goaltender Stephen Mundinger (2.97 goals against average and .909 save percentage), goaltender Hunter Virostek (3.54 GAA, .892 save percentage), defenseman Carson Vance (7 goals and 21 assists), forward Tyler Williams (15 goals and 22 assists), and defenseman Cam Tobey (4 goals and 6 assists).
All Ice Bears home games are played at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum, You can buy tickets to tonight’s game, or any Ice Bears home contest, online through TicketMaster. Parking at the venue is $15. We advise you allow plenty of extra time to navigate pregame traffic and park. Both the parking garage and the coliseum are cashless venues.
