Welcome back to I-81 Sports’ weekly fantasy football article that tells you who to bench (sit), who to play (start), and who to pick up off waivers (snipe) heading into your weekly fantasy matchup.

Week 5 brought even more injury fallout, the first byes, and another reminder that volume and matchups matter more than name value this early in a season.

Scheduling

Four teams are off this week (Bengals, Lions, Dolphins, Vikings), so roster construction tightens further. Four teams on bye means fewer options at every position; plan accordingly and prioritize high-floor plays where possible.

The Thursday night game has the Seahawks at the Broncos. The early London game is Texans vs. Jaguars on Sunday morning, followed by a full slate on Sunday and Monday night’s Commanders at 49ers contest.

Keep a close eye on practice reports as several key players are dealing with lingering issues from recent games.

Here are our lineup recommendations for Week 6.

SIT

QB: Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars (vs Texans)

The London early kickoff and a Texans defense that has been stingy against the pass create a lower-ceiling than you’d like with a QB1.

Lawrence has shown flashes but consistency has been elusive, and the potential for a more conservative game script make him a risky play if you have cleaner streaming options.

RB: Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs Steelers)

The Tampa backfield remains a committee with efficiency concerns, and Pittsburgh’s run defense has been solid. Even with volume available, the touchdown upside and yardage ceiling look limited in this matchup. Go after higher-floor alternatives.

WR: Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos (vs Seahawks)

Sutton’s target share has been trending down the last three weeks (23%, 16%, 14%) amid the Broncos’ offensive struggles, and Seattle’s secondary presents a tough test. The Broncos’ passing game has lacked rhythm, making Sutton a lower output option compared to receivers in higher-projected scoring environments.

TE: Isaiah Likely, New York Giants (vs Saints)

Likely’s involvement can fluctuate depending on game script and the Giants’ other weapons. New Orleans has been respectable against tight ends in spots this season, and without a locked-in high target share or consistent red-zone role, he carries more risk than higher-floor streaming options. After a big game this past week, this is the classic letdown spot where Likely comes back to single digits in fantasy points. Bench him if you have a cleaner alternative available.

START

QB: Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders (at 49ers)

Daniels’ dual-threat ability (103 rushing yards on 9 carries and 2 TDs last week) continues to produce strong fantasy coring. Even on the road against San Francisco, the Commanders’ offensive scheme and his rushing upside keep him in QB1 territory, especially in what could develop into a competitive game.

RB: Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons (vs Bears)

Robinson remains a workhorse with elite touchdown upside, scoring five TDs in as many games. Chicago’s defense has shown vulnerabilities against the run at times, and Atlanta’s home environment plus expected volume make him a locked-in RB1.

WR: Drake London, Atlanta Falcons (vs Bears)

London has emerged as a reliable target earner in the Falcons’ offense. A favorable home matchup against a Bears secondary that can be exploited should keep the volume high. A strong WR2/flex play with scoring potential.

TE: Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys (at Packers)

Ferguson’s role has stabilized with consistent targets (5 per game over the last three weeks). Green Bay has allowed production to tight ends in spots, and the Cowboys’ projected scoring environment supports a solid mid-tier start with upside if the offense hits its stride.

SNIPE

QB: Jameis Winston, New York Giants (vs Saints) (rostered in roughly 20-40% of leagues in many formats)

Winston has delivered back-to-back productive fantasy outings with multi-touchdown performances. He faces a Saints defense that has been vulnerable, offering a low-cost streaming option with upside while four teams are on bye.

RB: Woody Marks, Houston Texans (at Jaguars) (rostered around 50% or less in many leagues)

With David Montgomery dealing with a groin injury, Marks stepped into a significant role and produced both on the ground and as a receiver. The London matchup and increased opportunity make him a priority add for flex or RB2 consideration while the volume is there.

WR: Germie Bernard, Pittsburgh Steelers (at Buccaneers) (rostered in low single digits to teens in many leagues)

With injuries thinning the Steelers’ receiver corps (including Michael Pittman Jr. on IR and others limited), Bernard saw elevated targets and production. Cheap upside play with a path to weekly flex value if the role sticks.

TE: Chigoziem “Chig” Okonkwo, Washington Commanders (at 49ers) (rostered in roughly 3-5% of leagues)

Okonkwo is healthy and already showing chemistry with Daniels, posting a team-high target share and solid yardage in his recent return. With Washington’s passing game still finding its footing and a competitive Monday night environment, he offers low-cost upside as a streaming option while ownership remains extremely low. A solid deep-league or desperate TE add with a clear path to volume.

Set your lineups, put in those claims, and good luck this week. Remember the early London game and don’t forget to lock those decisions in time.
