Prep Athlete of the Week: Ruben Ibarra-Flores

The leg of senior kicker Ruben Ibarra-Flores has made a big impact for the David Crockett football team this season. None bigger than the Oct. 2 game against Tennessee High.

That’s when Ibarra-Flores nailed a 28-yard field goal as time expires to lift the Pioneers to a 31-28 Region 1-5A win over the Vikings. For this performance, Ibarra-Flores is the I-81 Sports and Tricitiessports Prep Athlete of the Week for Sept. 28-Oct. 4.

It’s not the first time Ibarra also had punts of 50 and 70 yards, went 4-for-4 on extra points, and delivered an onside kick that the Pioneers successfully recovered to recover the ball early in the fourth quarter trailing by seven, then drive for the tying TD.

Congratulations, Ruben!
